Windsor Whip Works 2011 National Small Works Art Show Competition
Denis A. Yanashot and his wife Mary Grace Yanashot have been juried into the
Windsor Whip Works 2011 National Small Works Art Show Competition. Winners of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as a special Jurors Award and honorable mention awards, will be announced at the opening reception on Saturday, December 3, 2011, from 6-9 p.m.
This national show will run from Saturday December 3, 2011 through Saturday, January 14, 2012.
Juror
Alan Singer is a New York born artist, writer, and Professor in the School of Art at R.I.T. in
Rochester, NY. His art has been featured in gallery and museum shows including the Everson in Syracuse, and Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. For over forty years he has been active as a painter and printmaker, illustrator and designer, and has curated and juried many shows in the northeast.

Cooperstown Art Association 76th Annual National Juried Art Exhibition
Denis and Mary Grace Yanashot were juried into this National Exhibition.
Everyone is invited to attend the annual gala Preview Party and awards ceremony to herald the opening of the 76th Annual National Juried Art Exhibition! The opening reception Preview Party, catered by Dannys Main Street Market, will be held Friday, July 15th from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at the Cooperstown Art Association galleries featuring music by Mary Doherty. The prizes will be awarded at 6:00 pm that same evening. Just prior to the opening at 4pm, juror, Mary Anna Goetz will be offering an informal gallery talk & tour of the National Exhibition which is free & open to the public.
The 76th Annual National Exhibition will be on display in all three galleries of the CAA from July 15th through August 19th.
We are very excited to offer a limited edition full-color poster commemorating our 76th Annual National Juried Show! The 11x17 poster features images of all 103 pieces that were accepted this year by jurors James Cox and Mary Anna Goetz. Posters are available at the CAA for a donation of $5 each or can be ordered through here. All proceeds benefit the Cooperstown Art Association and our Prize Fund which provides monetary awards for our Regional and National Juried shows.
The Cooperstown Art Association galleries are located at 22 Main St. in the Village Library Building, diagonally across from the Baseball Hall of Fame. GoggleWorks Center for the Arts presents its 2011 juried show Inside Outside: A broad interpretation of space and place on the edge and in between.
Both Denis and Mary Grace Yanashot were juried into the Inside Outside show at Goggleworks. The dates of the exhibition are
May 13 - June 19, 2011. The exhibition begins on May 13, 2011. On First Friday June 3, 2011 there will be an opening reception when the Award winner will be announced. There will also be a Second Sunday Open House on June 12, 2011. The show will close on June 19, 2011.
JUROR: BRUCE SAMUELSON
Bruce Samuelson is a well-renowned artist based in Bethlehem, PA. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA, Samuelson currently teaches painting, drawing and critique at his alma mater for both the Certificate Program and the Masters Degree Program. He has also taught painting at Rosemont College, Rosemont, PA.
As a talented, multi-faceted artist, Samuelson has been featured in numerous one- and two-person exhibitions across the country including at J. Cacciola Galleries, New York, NY; Esther Klein Art Gallery, University City Science Center, Philadelphia, PA; Galeria Yoramgil, West Hollywood, CA; Valencia College, Orlando, FL; Augusta College, Augusta, GA and Rosenfeld Gallery, Philadelphia, PA. Samuelsons work has also appeared in various group exhibitions and is a part of many public collections including Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA; Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA; Picker Art Gallery, Colgate University, NY; and Philbrook Museum of Art, Tulsa, OK.
During his prolific career, Samuelson has garnered many awards, such as the Percy M. Owens Memorial Award for a Distinguished Pennsylvania Artist from the Fellowship of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Excellence in Teaching Award.
ABOUT THE GOGGLEWORKS
The GoggleWorks is an exciting multi-faceted community art center located in downtown Reading, PA, just about an hour from Philadelphia, PA and two and a half hours from Manhattan, NY. Built in 1871, Thomas A. Willson & Co. manufactured eyeglasses and safety goggle equipment at the building until May, 2002. This 140,000 sq. ft. complex opened as an art center in September 2005 featuring 34 studios for working artists, hot, warm and cold glass studios, ceramics and pottery facilities, a wood shop, photography dark room facilities, a 131-seat art film theatre, dance and music studios, galleries, a store and a café. Visitors have an opportunity to visit resident artists in their studios in addition to viewing the art exhibition and enjoying all the GoggleWorks facilities. THE LOCATION
Cohen Gallery is located on the first floor of the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19601. The gallery is open seven days a week: Monday - Saturday: 9am - 9pm; Sunday: 11am - 7pm.
AWARDS
There will be a jurors award for best in show. This award winner will be featured in a solo show at the GoggleWorks in the Cohen Gallery. There will be cash prizes for solo show winner, second and third place.
