This is part one of the Sculpting of Jade Bloom. It involves the technique of roughing-out the Carrara marble with an electric grinder.
Part II of this video illustrates further roughing-out of Jade Bloom. A combination of traditional and modern methods is utilized in this segment.
In the last segment of this video "Jade Bloom" is in it's finishing stages. The use of a detail riffler is demonstrated along with mounting the sculpture to its base. Finish shots of "Jade Bloom" along with the kinetic properties of the base are demonstrated.
The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center is located at the head of two hundred acres of former marble quarrying and manufacturing facilities. The post-industrial landscape was a key element in the founding of our organization over 20 years ago. Today, inactive quarries and former manufacturing facilities offer a fantastic landscape for the imagination. The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center has expanded programming to include exploration of most sculptural media.
Lambert was born in Scranton, PA in 1975 and has resided in Northeast PA for his entire life. He is interested in drawing, cartooning, painting, music and writing since childhood.
